When I dropped Kaden off at horseback riding camp on Monday I thought to myself - I wonder how much a broken arm would end up costing us? None of us have had medical insurance since we moved to Florida (at least Toby and Blue were covered when we were in Texas) and having Kaden go to horseback riding camp just two weeks before Kevin starts working and we will be insured again sure seemed like a cosmic taunt to Fate or Murphy's Law or whatever ridiculous Force out there which would break a child's arm just to mess with his mother's sense of irony.
But look! Here's Kaden this morning with his horse, Penny (and yes, Penny has a pink mane) and his arms are fine! So are his legs for that matter. Three days down and only two to go and the main instructor tells me that Kaden sticks to Penny, "like a bur." Well, keep sticking, Kaden!
But Fate/Murphy's Law/Mean-Irony-Loving-Force figured if it couldn't shake Kaden the bur, then it would go after my accident prone middle son. So friggin' unfair because Blue is such an easy target - running on a wet playground and down he goes slicing his chin and earning 5 stitches. (This happened late Tuesday afternoon.)
And today he was still really upset about it as you can see.
So Blue took one for the team, and I think we're all safe now. (Fingers crossed, knock on wood and all that.)
