Last night after dinner Kevin asked if I'd watch kids and do dishes while he got started on the floor in Kaden and Blue's room. I agreed.
What floor work am I talking about? We pulled the pee carpet in Blue and Kaden's room. Last Sunday before church Kevin took apart their bunk bed and emptied their room. (It's amazing how much you can get done when your kids wake up at 6am EVERY DAY.) First we rented a steam cleaner and Sunday after church Kevin cleaned the room three times, but the next day I walked in the room, took one whiff and announced it was time for the carpet to go. Monday or Tuesday he did the first layer sealant/stain thing. Then Home Depot didn't have the right floor paint color, then he was in Haiti... and that brings us to Friday night and an entire week of bedroom furniture sitting in my living room. Lovely!
So I was doing dishes and I WAS watching the kids and I DID see Kaden and Toby go toward the room where Kevin was working but it never occurred to me that a man as smart as Kevin would leave the door open.
But then I hear, "Faydra, a little help!"
And then I see:
Kevin knew the paint can was in front of him and the kids were behind him. No worries. Until Toby discovered the paint can lid...
Water-based paint - nothing that an immediate trip to the tub couldn't fix.
Oh the fun of domestic life on a Friday night!
He is way too cute!
