We spent Saturday with some friends who have a lake house and I've been delayed in posting because I lost the cable I use to hook up my camera and computer. Oh how I long for this to all be wireless... but I think that will mean updating both my computer AND my camera and that won't be happening anytime soon.
So about that lake day...
A few times throughout the day the boys picked up poles (like these bamboo poles here) and then quickly got bored. But in the evening our friends usually feed the fish in the lake and this is when it's easy to give the kids a first-catch experience. Between our family of five, our friends and their dog, and a neighbor's dog, we were a noisy bunch and even with a cup full of dog food around our baited hooks we weren't having much luck.
Until Blue got a bite. But, uh, that fish would've pulled our boy in, so he had a little help getting his fish reeled in. Partners:
Blue was excited. The dogs were excited. (And did a lot of barking at the fish.)
We'd already eaten, so he was just a catch and release.
A beautiful day at the lake...
... that even us beach bums could appreciate.
